Is WebObjects a good choice now in 2011?

I'm thinking about using WebObjects to power the back end of our next web application. Everything I have read about it has been no less then praise and joy however, my only concern is that most of those posts are from three to five years ago? Without getting into the nitty gritty requirements of my application and weather or not it could be done quicker with PHP i'm really just looking to know if at this point if WebObjects or some other Java backend is a viable choice or even worth it?

I like the idea of having a powerful and massively scalable framework. I know PHP can do all of that but i'm interested in the advantages of what a language like java in the hands of the right programer can do. Not being much of a programer my i'm looking to learn as much as possible about backend infrastructure. Any insight would be wonderful and greatly appreciated.
