how to unlock the brightness keyboard?

When I click the botton to light up the keyboard, it pops up on screen but instead of changing the brightness there is a circle with a line through it and it wont change. What can I do? Please help.

The ambient light level is too high for the sensor to believe you need the KB backlight on.

If you want to override the sensor, Lab Tick provides full manual control:

Here is a nice advice:

The sensor is located right beside the camera above your screen:

Hold your thumb over the camera (and you'll see the screen turn darker, if you have activated the auto-brightness setting). Now you can just press the F5 or F6 button... Remove the thumb when you are done 😉. Nice and easy, without any tweaks.
