I have iphone 3gs 32 gb ios 4.3.2 , The problem that I faced after upgrading from 4.2.1 to 4.3.2 that:
1- the screen go black or dim suddenly while I am working on the iphone.
2- while the iphone is locked the screen suddenly appear to be slightly light ( not completly black) so I must unlock it the lock it again.
please help me

It probably goes dim because your covering the light sensor which causes it to go dark to save power.You can turn this off under brightness, auto-brightness I don't really understand your second question. Have you tried restoring the software in iTunes? If the problem still persist, take it to the Apple store and see what they say about it.

I didn't cover the light sensor and this happens during playing on the iphone or using the calculator whatever I use it happens but once, when I unlock it again it never happens till the next lock....this driving me crazy(i'm trying now to switch the auto brightness off ).
and about the second issue while the iphone is locked and ,without touching it,Suddenly the screen appears to be slightly light up. Do you think it's a sensor problem? should i go to apple store to fix it?
i am having the exact same problem
occasionally while using the phone, the screen will suddenly go dim as if it was going to auto lock the screen
after touching the screen again, everything goes bright as if nothing was wrong, but after while, the screen would just shut off and the phone would be locked as if the phone went into lock after being idle
it happened to both my 3GS and IP4 on 4.3.2
can't seem to find any fix or people with similar issues...
I have the same issue like shaunz with my 3GS on IOS 4.3.2, and i hope we find a solution for this.
if the problem is still occuring after a restore as new then the iPhone can be serviced/replaced under warranty or out of warranty. This has not been a common issue, or hasn"t been reported by many people just yet.

i have 4.3.3 and have the problem when i;m using the iPhone, or playing a game my screen dims, i have to pres the home button, than the screen light up, than few sec later, it goes to standby. When I unlock again, I can use it. Even after restoring, also when i'm not using the iphone sometimes the screen turns back on? But when it turns back on its dimmed and i cannot use it until I pres homebutton but when going to settings>general>usage I see that i somtetimes used the iPhone for 10 hours and it was not in standby, however I did not use it, and than tha battery is down verry fast, I don;t know what to do 😟
i have the same problem not on my 4g but on my iphone 5. i think i should get a replacement? the problem is will this incident happen while im in the apple store so they would see the problem.. 😟
