I'm really confused now.
Does the reliability problems of the iPhone also effect Apple's web services?

Yesterday evening my iPhone 4 switched to recovery mode without me touching it.
Switching it on and off did not resolve anything.

I left it till this morning thinking that it would just switch back all by itself.
Nada.

Tried the next best thing and attempted a restore using the latest version of iOS (4.3.2).
This has however made things worse as I'm constantly greeted by the message:

"We're sorry, we are unable to continue with your activation at this time. Please try again later, or contact customer care."

Yes, I have waited for hours and the message persists.

Has anyone run into a similar problem?

Hi all.

Update.

My mother went directly to an Apple store (in Orio al Serio)

She told me that they simply connected the Ipad to their station and it worked.

I was not present in the shop to understand if they did something different or not. I can guess that Apple directly did something on the account because she told me that the store did not replaced the Ipad.

Now it's working but she refused to restore the Ipad from the Itunes backup.

I simply extracted some data she needed (Notes and Documents) from the backup on Itunes using a complicated procedure found online.
