Do all GPS apps have the same accuracy?

Just wondering aloud here about how the GPS works in the iPhone.

I am wondering if GPS Navigation apps use the same data to calculate accuracy. For example, apps such as MotionX GPS, Gaia GPS, GPS Kit, and others provide specific numbers as to how accurate the position (ex, 56ft). Does each app calculate such numbers independently or do they all read the same 'base' GPS data the iPhone itself provides?
