I have an iPad 1st generation running OS 4.3.2. It is running perfectly, except that I have a bunch of blank icons on my home screen (see the attached images). I can delete them, but every time I install a new app from the apple store, they come back.
The icons have no label and when launced, do nothing at all.
Ideas?

You are right, I did not. I pasted this from another forum I posted this question in and forgot to take that part out. The forum did not give me to option to add images.

Have you tried doing a reset ? Press and hold both the home and sleep buttons for about 10 seconds after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot. Do the screens also appear like that in the device's apps tab when connected to your computer's iTunes ?
I did a complete reset and it did not change a thing.
I went to iTunes and the blank icons do not appear there.

No more ideas from me, unless you want to try a restore. One other thing about the first image is that I can't remember having seen the padlock symbols that are on the three apps at the bottom of the screen.
An app I am running allows me to password protect individual apps so my grandson cannot run them.
I tried wiping the iPad and installing my apps (minus the padlock one) and I still get the same problem.
Has anybody ever seen this problem before?
