There is an old answer about Minitab on a Mac. I am hoping for a new answer that I like better. If I download Minitab (free), will I be able to use it on my MacBook Air?

There is an old answer (2008) about Minitab on a Mac--doesn't work. I am hoping for a new answer (2011) that I like better. If I download Minitab (free), will I be able to use it on my MacBook Air?

The question as to how you can use Minitab is not a hardware issue, so the Macbook Air won't be any different than your previous observation with a Mac.

It's a software issue. Minitab is a Microsoft Windows operating system program, not a Mac OS X product.

Therefore, you will need to be running Windows on your Mac, to use it. Now, you can either install Windows via Bootcamp, or install and run Windows via a virtual machine (Parallels or Fusion). Then you could freely download and install Minitab within a Windows session.

You "may" be able to run Minitab within OS X using other methods, i.e. Wine, but I'll let someone else more familiar with that possibility comment on that.
