Why does pages freeze whenever I try to save a document with my wifi turned on?

Whenever I try to save a pages document and my wifi is turned on, I get the spinning beachball and it takes a very long time for a document to save, even if the filesize is very small. I have the same issue when I'm using microsoft office as well. However, when I go to save and the wifi is turned off, there are no issues and it saves fine.
