Q: re-analyze ALL assets...ALL assets

My situation is this. After learning a few things I went back and added two MD groups to my metadata set (P2 and FCP Log and Transfer) and I need to reanalyze all assets (well, all movie assets) to pull the info from the primary representation into the fcs asset. I have over 2500 assets so brute forcing reanalyze is not a good option.

I've seen a few posts on how to analyze individual assets from the command line (./fcsvr_client analyze /asset/asset_id) but batching these involves scripting which I have little to no experience in.

Is there a way to force the reanalyze of all assets either using automations or a wildcard of some sort instead of a specific id?

If not, what is the best / easiest way to script this?

Here is a one-liner that should do the trick. Modify the fcsvr_client search to get just the assets you want.

./fcsvr_client search /asset | awk ' /^\/asset/ {print $1}' | xargs -I {} ./fcsvr_client --force analyze {}
