WHY DOES MY NETFLIX FREEZE ON MY APPLE TV?

It may be that your internet connection isn't fast enough.
To test it: Does Netflix freeze if you watch it through the browser on your computer?
If it freezes in both cases, then it is your bandwidth speed, or throttling from your ISP.
I have the same problem with the Apple TV 2. I watch netflix on my PS3, Macbook Pro and iPad without any issues. It freezes after about 2 to 3 minutes. I'm connected to the Internet via Comcast Cable. I connect to the Internet via an Apple Time Capsule and 802.11 N.
It started happening to my two AppleTV2 units after the lest upgrade. I need to power cycle the units to get netflix to work again.
Any word on why your apple tv freezes?
I have same issues. All other devices are fine.
No answers yet Tony. Very frustrating. I thought I had it fixed for awhile, but apparently I was wrong. It also freezes through my Blu ray player, but not on my computer. It has to be a problem on Netflix end. 😠
Tested my appleTV2 on Comcast 26mbps down = no hiccups or freezes
Tested on Time Warner NYC 10Mbps down = pauses, hiccups, freezes (on Netflix and iTunes rentals)
Therefore I assume it is the service provider, not Netflix
One other problem: it takes a very long time to connect to iTunes for Podcasts (spinning wheel) on both Comcast and Time Warner - Therefore I believe that is Apple Server delay.
