How to minimize a window and open another app

Hi Breezze22. Apps that you start remain in their previous state until you force quit them. You can actually switch to another app by tapping Home, then selecting the app from the Home screen. If an app is already running, that just returns to it. I know that's not how it's done on a computer, but it's really simple when you get used to it.

That really ***** because I would think that would be something that they would have put into this I know it's not a computer but it just seems more logical it doesn't seem it would be that much more work for that little tiny thing to be added which would be so much more helpful but use it the way it is and I like it

iOS 11 was just released today, and makes this a little easier. There is now a dock at the bottom of the iPad screen which has all your recent apps. You can also pin some apps to the dock if you use them frequently.

To get the dock, you swipe up slightly from the bottom of the screen. That way it doesn’t cover your screen space while you’re working.

Lol, I did notice that and checked what were the most recent posts to see why it was at the top of my feed. The thread went dormant Apr 30, 2011, and was revived yesterday by Breezze22, to say that he wished the iPad had a feature which it didn’t have yesterday, but does have today (via iOS 11).

That’s why I started my post saying he picked an awesome time to complain.

There is no "minimize". You can bring up the recent applications by double tapping the Home button. A single tap of the Home button will take you back to the Home screen.
