Compliation Artists crowding up my Ipod artists list

My iPod classic does not show Artiststhat are part of a compilations under Artists but on my iPod Touch the compilation artists ado show under Artists. This adds hundereds of artists that I don not want to scroll through. Does anyone know of a fix or an App for this? Apple; are you working on this issue?

I know this is an ongoing issue but can't seem to find a good answer.
