Any way to turn off input monitoring completely?

I need to turn off input monitoring completely on any given record enabled track. Particularly for punch ins, but in general, I want to be able to hear the recorded material, but not have input monitoring enabled, due to the latency issue. I simply want to monitor thru my mixer. Can't seem to locate if it's possible in the manual.

Possibly theres another workflow that people are using? If so, I'd love to hear about it. BTW, this is Logic Pro 8

No. Turn it off. Either the manual is wrong, or you are looking at a different parameter. Don't turn off the interface, just uncheck the "software monitoring" box.

WHOA! I just tried this and it works...it does *not* turn off output to my audio interface (PreSonus StudioLive)....I can still hear all the tracks play back. I guess the manual means, on page 356, that no monitoring of any kind, *thru record enabled inputs* will be heard........which is fine by me.

I have it working fine now. Turning off software monitoring did the trick. I wonder if there's a key command for toggling it....I'll search for that.
