My screen no longer rotates. Could it be accidently locked? How do I return to normal?

My I Pad 2 is new and has performed as advertised. However, last week the screen locked up and no longer rotates when the device is tilted.

How do I return to normal?

iPad 2

Have you got rotation lock turned on (is there an icon of a lock symbol with an arrow around it on the top line of the screen next to the battery symbol) ? If rotation lock is on then it can be switched off by one of two ways : either by the switch on the right-hand side of the iPad or via the taskbar (double-click the home-button; slide the taskbar to the right; rotation lock is far left) - which one of these two options it is depends on how you've got Settings > General > Use Side Switch To set. More info on rotation lock and the side switch here http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4085
