headphones problem - low volume

I havent noticed this until my friend asked if he could use my headphones.

he came back after 2 minutes with a surprised look on his face, telling me the sound is too low. I didnt understand until he got me someone else's headphones and then I noticed the huge difference 😝

I really cant tell if they had been this way since I got the iPhone last october, but I dont think so... I remember they were loud.

on top of that I also noticed that the sound coming out of the back of the headphones is actually louder from the front 😀 so now I put them on backwards so I can hear louder.

has anyone heard of such a thing? how can it be fixed or do I have to buy expensive iphone headphones again?

thanks

Basel

If other earphones/headphones are OK and you have had your iPhone less than 12 months (which it would seem you have), then I would go back to the place of purchase or contact Apple and arrange for a replacement set to be given to you under warranty, clearly if you can prove that the problem only exists with those particular earphones and not others, then those earphones are at fault. If however the fault has arisen due to rough handling, then the warranty would not cover this.

I noticed you highlighted some bold text (until he got me someone else's headphones and then I noticed the huge difference).

I did mention earlier that ifother headphonesare OK (i.e. someone else’s), and that if BaselAScan prove that the problem only exists with those particular earphones (those particular earphones been the ones that came with the iPhone) then those earphones/headphones that came with the iPhone are at fault.

But seriously though. This is all harmless banter/chat and I’m not out to annoy anyone 🙂

I agree with EBSkater, that it's YOUR headphones.

I got same problem with my earphones. after 8-10 months of use the volume will be lower.

I've got now a new pair (3rd pair in 2 years) of apple earphones and the difference is incredible.

I guess that apple should change something.

I had earphones from Sony who last for minimum 2-3 years (hard usage) till a cable broke. but volume was always the same.
