I tried to delete icons on the home screen but the icons won't jiggle even when held for a very long time. The only way to delete icons is to double click the home button and the icons will appear on the bottom of the screen to be deleted. How do i settle this.

Try to restore your iPad from iTunes.

Try to restart your iPad. Hold the on/off power button down while at the same time pressing the Home button.  When the iPad shuts off, press the power and restart the iPad. This may fix the oddity.

Hi applegs... Tried that already. It still won't jiggle as it should... Any other ideas?

Are you trying to delete native Apple apps that came preloaded on the iPad? If so, they won't jiggle and can't be deleted. Actually, they will jiggle, but no X will appear on the icon.

Also, check in Settings>General>Restrictions and make sure "Delete Apps" is set to On.

Go into Settings/General, so far down the next screen you will see Restictions, click on this and see if you have the DELETING APPS switch, switched off. I have this switched off on my iPhone to prevent someone from been able to delete the Find iPhone app.

From what you are describing it sounds like you might have the DELETING APPS switch, switched off.

The icons that you are deleting from the bottom of the screen will only be getting deleted from the multi task/recently used area at the bottom of the screen and will not be deleted from the iPad.

Thanks. I went to the store where I bought the ipad2 and what they did was to restore my ipad os to original one and deleted my backup version. They also helped me reinstall my purchased apps which I sync with my macbook pro earlier on.

There was no restrictions setting appearing in my general tab becoz of that. So after reinstalling the os, my icons started to jiggle! Yeay...Problem solved! Thank you for all the help from all of you...:-)
