/System/Library/Printers/Libraries/PrintJobMgr/Contents/MacOS/PrintJobMgr failed

Try a reset of the printing system.

1. Open System Preferences > Print & Fax
2. Move the cursor over the Printers list
3. Hold down Control and click
4. Select 'Reset printing system' popup

This will delete all your print queues but not the drivers, so you will only have to add the queue to the HP again.

Thanks PAHU, after several hours my problem finally solved. Epson 1280 failing to print after (admittedly late) upgrade to Snow Leopard from 10.4.X. What can I say, I hate change...
