Panasonic HDC-HS300 Camcorder file access for Final Cut Studio

I have a Panasonic HDC-HS300 camcorder and need to archive the files from both the Camcorder HDD and the SD Card to my MAC Hard Drive for use in the future.

I have tried making a folder and copying files from the camcorder but FC-Pro will not recognise them. I am able to Log and Transfer clips OK but really need a way to ensure I have future access if needed.

Any help with this problem would be helpful

Hi Tom, I can get the footage into FCP through Log and Transfer when the camera is being accessed via the USB cable but what I want to do is get the footage out of the camcorder onto my MAC Hard Drive then delete the files from the camcorder but still be able to access them from the MAC Hard drive if required.

I tried simply making a folder on the MAC then copying the file structure of the camcorder into it but FCP says it cannot open the files. I thought it would have been able to do this so perhaps I am missing a trick !
