Why can't I move some apps between screens?
I am unable to move most apps between screens. After making it movable, and attempting to move the app to another scene, it just bounces off the edge.
iPad, iOS 4.3

Hi: It can indeed be a tricky maneuver until you get accustomed to it. When the Icon you wish to move is at the edge, hold it in that position for a second or 2, it should then jump to the next screen.
Hope this helps

The method that I like to use is to place your app in the dock at the bottom, then scroll to the page that you want to place your app and it onto that page. If your dock is already full, just move one or more out, then you can drag apps down and move them around. Once you're finished you can move your regular dock apps back into place.
It is a good option but don't forget that you can rearrange the apps in iTunes when your iPad is connected to your computer as well.
As for the "on screen" method, when you drag the icon to the edge of the screen do it slowly and just let the icon move over about half way to the next screen and hold it there for a second or two. The next screen will slide over and you can position the app wherever you want. You just have to get the hang of it.
Excellent! I see this as the best possible way to move around app icons. I'm disappointed in myself for not thinking of it.
