Got receipt for an unauthorized purchase, please help!

Let's be clear, the only iDevice we own is a single iPHone 3GS:

Last night I received an invoice stating I downloaded a free App called Texas Poker from KAMAGAMES LTD. The app, which I have never downloaded (it isn't in my iTunes nor on my phone), has made two in-app purchases:

Texas Poker, 500k chips, Seller: KAMAGAMES LTD 9.99

Texas Poker, 500k chips, Seller: KAMAGAMES LTD 9.99

After taxes, this total invoice comes out to 22.76$, which is the total amount I had left in my account from a gift card I had redeemed a couple of months earlier.

I have never downloaded such an app, therefore these in-app purchases are impossible for me to have made. I reported this by e-mail to iTunes support but it's the weekend and I really want this settled ASAP.

Thank god I did not have a credit card linked to my account.

What can I do from this point on?

All of this follows my installing of an app called Paperboy:Special Delivery, which is free and does not allow for in-app purchases.

I do not gamble and NEVER play poker.

How can I get my money back from this illegal, unauthorized purchase?

After 2 months and a few very pointed emails to and from Itunes Support, I got a pleasant surprise today and our $60 has been refunded. I had given it up for loss. Not sure how or why they decided to make the refund after telling me they would not be doing it, but I certainly won't complain. NOW to figure out how to spend all the money before another hacker comes along and swipes it again!! I will not be keeping funds on the account in the future.

Woke up this morning to an email saying that my itunes account has been used on a computer that has never been associated with my account before. So i checked my itunes balance and sure enough, they drained $65 of my $100 gift code that i just redeemed yesterday! so frustrating. This time it was for Order & Chaos Online by Gameloft. I really hope these fools at Apple quickly reply to my emails. I cant believe that this problem still hasnt been solved. Ridiculous.

Message was edited by: Kelvs11 And also, i forgot to say that for some reason, the hacker decided to delete my credit card info. Is it possible for them to retrieve my credit card info by looking at my itunes account? I know that there are usually stars to replace the digits in a credit card number, but is it possible to see the whole number?

Update: They got back to me in one day and they have already credited my account back. Mind you, something wasnt adding up and i am still missing like $7, i am happy and willing to take the $70 refund. Their service was very fast and friendly. i guess it really depends on which rep you get. and yes i will agree with what was said in the post above, be safe and purchase a prepaid card. cause you never know when they will run your credit card up hundreds of dollars.

oh joy - i've joined the ranks of the unfortunate.

lesson about security taken.

i THINK this is the only site that i use which is so easy to spend money on so HOPEFULLY it wont happen again!

i'd love to know how they got my password. i am not a member of any of the sites which have been hacked lately.

i also hope that they maybe make it harder to buy stuff ingame! if its not my normal machine why the **** did they authorise the purchase? how about blocking it instead of letting them spend my money THEN telling me about it.

Stupid Apple iTunes ****..

Just redeemed a £65 voucher that I accepted as opposed to cash for doing some work and the whole lot has been taken from me from some f**ker who downloaded Kingdom Conquest and several in-app purchases.

Why don't Apply have more measures in place when you do get one of these email receipts to allow you to immediately report the download as fraud ?!

Was starting to lose faith in Apple and their ever-increasing insuperior products and now this..

Last night I received 4 email receipts from iTunes for purchases over $200 for songs someone has gifted themselves using my debit card. I immediately called my bank, card cancelled and transactions flagged as unathorised.

However, I could only email apple iTunes support and once their call centre opened this morning told to wait till they email back.

This happened after I purchase a free Bigpond for iPhone app yesterday afternoon from my iPhone. I have changed my password and taken my card off my iTunes account but I'm still $200+ out of pocket.

I've been able to talk to my bank, the police and even the media picked up my story on twitter but still waiting to hear from Apple.

NEVER store your credit card details on your iTunes account!

Just woke up to the same thing. Luckily only $9.99 of my apple credit to the Texas Poker. Also had my credit card info deleted, which is sure weird.

What's the best way/place to email to contact them about this? I am trying to use the Express Lane and none of the options fit right.

Edit: finally worked through the Express Lane and sent an email. Hopefully they will restore my credit.

i just checked my bank account balance, and it was whiped out down to $20. three huge debits to the itunes store. no information though. i checked my itunes account and it says mt last purchase was in 2007. that was the last time i even looked at the itunes store.

is there any way to find out who used my card, or what they purchased? none of the activity was on my apple account.

i got rid of the card and changed all my online security stuff.

Still going on.

Received several emails from Apple today about changes to my account and the purchase of a Texas Poker app by a device not previously associated with my account. I definitely did not purchase this app. The purchase was for $49.99 for the app and 50m in chips. An in app purchase was made for $19.99 for 15m in chips. I'm assuming that is 50 million and 15 million. The app is by KAMAGAMES LTD. They essentially cleaned my iTunes credit out (all gift cards).

I've contacted apple and received an email saying they are looking into it. I've changed my AppleID password as directed. Apple has since frozen my AppleID account for security reasons because someone entered my password too many times to continue to steal from me, so I've changed my password again. I also contacted my credit card company that was attached to the iTunes account as a backup and they are watching my account.

With so many complaints about the antics of KAMAGAMES LTD, you would think that Apple would remove them from the store.

When reviewing the iTunes Terms of Service Aggrement it appears that Apple is not liable for these purchases since it was done using my account. For good customer relations, I hope they refund my iTunes credit balance.

I have a pre-paid Visa card and this morning I checked the balance on it just to make sure I had enough to make my car payment. Well, I found that over $120 in iTunes purchases were made in three seperate transactions. I can't even remember the last time I logged into iTunes. The only purchase I have ever made was a CD a couple of years ago, I guess. I had to call my debit card company to cancel my card and have a new one issued to me. I haven't had the chance to report it to Apple yet, since their website isn't very user friendly as far as trying to get a phone number to contact somebody and I had to leave for work. This is very frustrating and is going to be a huge hassle for me to have this all cleared up. I really don't appreciate this happening to me just days before I'm supposed to deliver my first baby. I don't need this kind of stress.

Got receipt for an unauthorized purchase, please help!
