Preference Warnings

Getting a lot of preference warnings that cannot be repaired. Can anyone advise on what these mean and whether or not they will create major problems?

I'm asking because these started appearing on my business iMac and now, after loginwidow problems that got worse, I'm now having to do a new install, so hoping the same isn't happening here.

Permissions differ on "System/Library/CoreServices/Front Row.app/Contents/CodeResources", should be -rw-r--r-- , they are lrw-r--r-- .

As long as the report ends up with 'Permissions repair complete'

then, as far as permissions go, you are fine. You can ignore the various statements in the report:

Using 'should be -rw-r--r-- , they are lrw-r--r--' as an example, you will see the that the permissions are not changed, but the | indicates a different location. This is because an update to Leopard changed the location of a number of system components.

As long as you see, "Permissions Repair Complete" when it's finished... you're done.

Before the user had read & write. A member of the group had read.

After, only the user had read & write.
