iPad 2 WiFi.

I have just purchased a 16GB WiFi only iPad 2. The icon for the WiFi keeps constantly drops and gains one bar. With my iPad one I never had this problem. Faulty?

Did you transfer the backup for your original iPad to your new iPad?

Try selecting the network to view the network settings followed by selecting Forget this Network. This will require re-joining the network.

If no change, go to Settings > General > Reset and select Reset Network Settings. This will erase all wi-fi network settings from your iPad and require re-joining every wi-fi network you have access to when returning within range of such a network.

If no change after this and you transferred the backup for your previous iPad to your new iPad, try restoring your new iPad with iTunes as a new iPad or not from the iPad's backup.

If no change after this, more than likely it is faulty.

Update:

When I went to bed last night I noticed my iPhone 4 was doing the same thing so I've put it down to the wireless network. However when I woke up this morning and started to use the iPad I noticed there was no wireless icon on the screen at all but I was able to sure the internet so I was obviously connected.

I spent £59 on a leather cover for it and the hinge has fell apart. 😟
