How do I use the camera on iPad 1
How do we use our camera on the iPad 1. There is no icon for the camera app and we cannot find anything under the settings?
iPad, iOS 4.3.2

Well, unless you misstyped, and you own an iPad 2, you unfortunately don't have a camera on the first generation model which obviously explains the lack of an icon for it!
... sorry!
Felix
There isn't a camera on the iPad 1. The addition of 2 cameras is one of the main selling features of the iPad 2.
The reason there's no icon for the camera app on an iPad 1 is because the original iPad had no camera. That's a new feature of the iPad 2.
A personal trainer downloaded a User Guide App on my iPad 1 and it has a camera section with all the instructions for taking photos. That had me flipping it around looking for where the camera is hidden! I would have expected iPad 1 and iPad 2 instructions to be separate apps. I wonder what ELSE can't my ipad 1 do?
Just go to the camera app

So would everybody else, including Apple. Look at the correct User Guide and find out. They're not apps by the way, just pdf files.
Thanks tonefox. I've since learned that it is a bookmark for a webpage that only LOOKS like an app.
I did go to the link above and downloaded the November 22 version - at 181 pages it looks to be much more detail and I will use this a lot. (When I also followed Apple's note for the "iPad-friendly formatting", it is the one including the camera section which is what I already have.) But now I do have 2 pdf versions on my iPad -- one is a Safari page and one is "an app" and they are both "on the internet". Does anyone know how to convert this to something IN my iPad?
You could download the free iPad app iBooks to organize and read your PDF files on your iPad.
Thanks Apfelwurm! I did it! One last question -- Now that I have the correct iPad guide, is there a way to change it or move it from being an iBooks pdf to being a home screen icon? The iPad guide says when I am reading it to touch the + sign and click on Add to Home Screen, but there is no + sign - I don't think it works that way with a pdf. Thanks Apfelwurm or anybody!
I've had my iPad 1 for over a year. When I go to Safari, Bookmarks, IPad User Guide, there is a section there for Camera. I never really needed the user guide before and was just checking it out today for the first time. I'm thinking that since the iPad 2 came out now there is only one user guide for all iPads? Maybe one of the recent updates that i did to my iPad 1 added the camera section??
This is really weird,I had this iPad 1 for more than a year already,I pressed the lock button and home button together and suddenly a flash of light came up and took a picture !cool right ,this is really true ,the picture I took was at photos!

That's not weird, it's called a screenshot and it's not a photo it's just a capture of what's on the screen when you press Home and On/Off at the same time.
These screenshots go to "Saved Photos" in the Photos App.
people are idiots. If you also have an iPhone, you can download an app called "CAMERA FOR iPad" ... you have to download it on both devices though.
Open the app on both at the same time and they will connect the two devices together. Whatever is showing through the camera on the phone will also be showing on the iPad. It"s a great sspy tool because you can leave your phone in one place and view and listen on your iPad somewhere else.
I have an andriod phone now and i'm trying to locate a compatible app..
