I downloaded free Stuffit Expander, but it doesn't seem to work so I want to know how to uninstall.  Advice will also be helpful if I want to uninstall future unused applications which I had downloaded.

In the future, applications that use an installer should be uninstalled with their respective uninstaller. Apps that download as .dmg files and you drag to your applications folder can just be deleted by moving them to the trash and emptying the trash.

Yes, the downloaded Suffit Expander was in .dmg format and was drag to Apps folder.  So this means I can just delete it by moving to trash, without having to download the uninstaller and go thru the uninstalling steps?

It could have been possible that upon first launch, Stuffit installed some files. Did it ever ask you for a password when your first launched it?

Yes Grant, it did ask for my password and also ask if I want to transfer the file to Apps which I had also answered Yes.  I am not very techie.  I have uninstalled Stuffit Expander, but still find some folders have it.  So I just moved them to trash.

This link does not work. I downloaded the app from the Apple App store and iit appeared on my dock. ? if it is a .dmg file. If I just drag the app to the trash I understand that this app will leave stuff scattered arond my hard drive. Can you give me a live link for the SmithMicro Uninstaller app or advice on how to find and eliminate the scattered stuff?
