Personally I hate the new forum format, but I am living with it (no choice). However if I post in a thread I am automatically emailed with new posts in that thread. Then I have to tell it to cease email notifications.
Does anyone know how to force this new format to stop auto-emailing? Unwanted emails may force me to leave the forum.

On the right under Actions click: Stop email notifications.
Make sure you are "stopping" the notifications not only for a particular thread, but for the community itself, such as Snow Leopard or iPhone...
Thanks Carolyn. I have been doing that but it only works after receiveing the first batch of hugely offensive emails for each new thread.

Actually, to turn them off universally is kind of convoluted (it's not "Manage Email notifications"):
Go to "Your Stuff"
Select "Profile."
On the right, select "edit preferences"
There will be two tabs "edit general preferences" and "email notification preferences."
Under the "email notification preferences" you can limit or stop the email notifications universally.

Well like we tell everyone, Apple ain't here. You can send feedback or post to the Using Apple Discussions group. The hosts do seem to pay attention there.
FWIW I did send the feedback as soon as I realized what was happening. Whether anyone reads such feedback or cares is questionable.
FWIW I'm stil being plagued with this **** multitudinous supply of Discusssion pages even though I've been using "NO" on all those spots in Discussin Prefs - likewise on my "Your Stuff" page. How the heck do I stop it. It's infuriating . . . ? Up to 30 of 'em at a time.
Anyone have any positive idea to get rid of their intrusions?
There are three places you need to look:
If you click n 'Your Stuff' at the top of the page there are two links to look at:
Check both Notificatations and Preferences. They take care of future notifications.
For notifications you are getting now go to your home page and look for the Actions box on the right hand side of the page:
Click on Manage Email notofications. That controls notifications your are currently getting.
Thanks looks like this is the solution. Ridiculous how when u set all the boxes to not receieve e-mails, theres another option hidden somewhere that will make you still receive e-mails and apple are meant to all be about simplicity right? Ha
