Logic Studio (Logic Pro+Mainstage apps) freeze/stop working every time a dialog box pops up.

Hi everyone,

I'm having an interesting problem with my Logic Studio apps Mainstage and Logic Pro.

I've been putting off updating to the latest versions for a long time (Had Logic Pro 9 etc) but as of the latest updates which I installed (Eg. Logic Pro 9.1.3), when seemingly any dialog box (save, warnings, info, whatever) pops up, the app freezes (stops responding) - does not accept any clicks or key presses, screen of the app freezes, BUT if I have a software instrument in Logic currently on, I can still play it despite this (just trying to give whatever detail I can).

They stay like this, until I force close. When I do so, however (and interestingly also when I quit the application normally) I get a message saying it quit unexpectedly using the "Hear64" plugin. No idea what that is.

I might add that the apps had been fine in their pre-update versions which were 32 bit, and the updates made them 64 bit applications. I dont see why this should be a problem, this would normally be a significant benefit but these freezes are impossible to work with.

I did completely uninstall Logic Studio and reinstall my original from disk - problem gone. Then I ran software update and updated to the latest everything again and the problem comes back. Weird. And I can't find ANYTHING about issues like this on the web at all so I have no idea what's going on.

Any help would be GREATLY appreciated!!!

FYI - Macbook Pro 15' Late 2008, 2.4GHz, 2GB, Snow Leopard (10.6.7), Everything else works perfectly.
