I am passing my iPad to my partner and I have Good Reader downloaded in my iPad but as he needs to sync it to his iTunes how do we go about doing it? Will I lose the paid apps like Good Reader?

Applications are specific to an iTunes account. If you synch the iPad to a computer with a different iTunes account, all applications will be wiped. No way around this.

if you connect an ipad 2 to itunes and sync it will automaticly get all apps bought using the appleID the itunes is set to use
You cannot synch an iPad to an iPad 2 directly. All synching must go through iTunes.
LOL u r rite. I shall rephrase my question. How do I sync all the apps into my iTunes to sync it to iPad 2? Which means all paid apps to be sync to iPad 2.
When you sync the iPad 1 to iTunes it should copy all of the items from the iPad into iTunes.
However, you can connect your iPad 1 to your computer, launch iTunes, right click on the device name on the left side of iTunes and select Transfer Purchases. This will transfer all paid apps, movies, music etc into iTunes. The you can sync the iPad 1 to iTunes one last time to make sure all content is backed up.

Disconnect iPad 1, connect iPad 2, select all of the stuff that was on iPad 1 and sync.

If you only have a few paid apps, you don't need to sync to iTunes if you don't want to. You can re-download them to your iPad 2 without paying them again as long as you log in to the same Apple ID in the App Store on your iPad 2.
