Blue Screen of Death on Sync

I am experiencing an issue with Itunes where my computer (Windows Vista SP2) crashes to Blue Screen when syncing my iPod Touch or iPhone4. It happens every time but not always at exactly the same time. Though it is always during teh file sync (apps or music).

I tried to install iTunes 9 to get around the issue but when I tried to open the program it told me my library had been created with a newer version of the program and refused to open. I looked at my iPhone and contemplated throwing into the river behind my house. I have teh option to trade in my iphone for a Droid at work and am seriously considering this option unless I can get a solution for the blue screen crashing.

Can anyone help?

If you're getting a Blue Screen, do you know the exact error message that is popping up as to what's causing it? Most likely it will be the Device Driver not working correctly and causing it to Blue Screen on you.

You will first of all want to make sure you cleanly remove and reinstall iTunes to give it a test to begin with. You can do this by following the steps outlined in this article.

You will want to look at running through the following Knowledge Base Article to manually remove and reinstall the Apple Mobile Device Driver if the clean uninstall & reinstall has not been successful .
