Apple Wireless Keyboard Lag

Lately when I have been using my Apple Wireless Aluminium Keyboard with my iPad, I have been noticing issues such as it typing two of the same letter, or lagging at plugging in the letters. It was really bad before I restarted the iPad, not sure that resetting it would help since people with Macs have issues with this aswell, found in these communities. I don't think I could get a firmware update for it on iPad, I'm having to type this discussion through Splashtop on my iPad since I can't enter text in this field with my iPad (probably because I'm using Atomic Web Browser), and the keyboard hasn't lagged.

Is there a way to fix this? For example, when I was typing the title on my iPad, it said AApple Wireless Keyboardd Lag, and many more variations of this.
