I am trying to activate my Facetime on my Ipod touch. I have signed in, and then when it asks about my email, I hit next, but a message pops up saying that it is unable to verify my email. It says it sends a verification email, but it never has. I have tried going back with a different sign in, and different email, but the same message always pops up. How can I get past this?

I am having the same exact problem on my iPad2. Its terribly frustrating! Facetime just won't verify my email.
I've tried everything:
1) Resetting the iPad
2) Log into Appleid to managed my a/c
3) Updated my new iPad 2 with 4.3.3
Still can't solve the problem. Somebody please help us!
JSLTT: I just got an iPad and I'm having the same problem - I have MobileMe and use this account on iTunes. I have spent a few hours now trying my MobileMe account and the email alias I use on that account and I get a keep getting a message that I'm being sent a confirmation email at my alias email, but I never get a confirmation email.
I think Apple has a problem here - would appreciate some help/ Does Apple monitor "Apple Support Communities"?
Yeah, I've got this problem too.
iPod touch 4g will not verify email address on either of two accounts.
email was said to have been sent, but perhaps it didn't get off the server.
email was never received from either gmail.com account or me.com account.

There was a big issue like this when the 4G iPod Touch released. It had something to do with certain accounts not being able to receive mobileme emails. Some said it was due to having an old account name that WASN'T an email.
I had this issue where my account was username: drumboi88. It couldn't "verify" the account, but when I logged into apple.com, they requested I make my username an email address, which I did, and now I sign in as an email address.
Try getting your account set up first and verify you can receive an email.
I got around this on ipad2 by doing the following:
Create new itunes account with email address you want to use
Go to apple.com / support. Login with the email address but put it wrong pw every time.
Apple will then take you through process to reset your pw, chose via email.
They will email you to change pw. After that FaceTime should verify

I have the same problem on iPad2 even logging in using an email address as username. Even tried setting up a new appleID and it still doesn't work. Anyone knows how to get around this??
I had recently been prompted to change my password. That prompted the issue. I did a reset in the settings (which doesn't wipe everything out, just passwords and stuff). And it worked perfectly after that.

I kept getting the message that it couldn't verify my email address, and to check my network connection, but was definitely connected...finally thought to check my email Spam folder...had loads of verification emails in there! All sorted 🙂
It did the same thing to me twice, the first time apple verified my apple id then it worked, the second time it did it I pressed the sleep button for long and shut my ipod then opened it and facetime worked ! 🙂

I had this same problem with FaceTime not connecting and I had setup multiple accounts. I did the reset from Settings and put in the apple id i wanted the ipod to use when prompted and facetime verified and worked.
I was having this problem with a gmail email address that included a period. As it happens, gmail ignores the period, so myname@gmail.com is the same as my.name@gmail.com. When I tried to verify with the version with a period, I never received the email message. When I omitted the period everything worked fine.
