When i plug the magsafe in the led is very weak (green) and after a while it changes to ambar and starts to blink.

I've tried to reset SMC, removed RAM slots, etc nothing worked my 1400€ babe is dead....

    It happened also to me:

    MB Pro 13.3", I7, 2.7/2x2GB/500GB HD,

bought on the 11th march 2011 in NYC/5th av store.

I've connected a USB pen, 2GB, working in others mac and PC, and just in the moment I've plugged it, the MBPro turned off, no sign from battery led, when I connect the charger it doesn't show the light, or it shows an intermittent green light, very low power.

This just happened to me. I didn't realize it was the USB cable that did it (third party lightning cable). I then swapped my hdd and put into a different macbook pro we had. Worked fine, until I went to charge my phone. Then same thing, but I didn't even have the phone plugged in. As soon as I plugged in the usb cable, macbook pro turned off, and then the led light on charger got weaker and weaker. Then the LED on charger wouldn't show, and battery LEDs do nothing. Same thing as everyone else. Pulled ram, reset SMC, and am just about to pull the battery to see if that helps. Can't believe this "feature" got me twice in the same day on two different laptops.

Apple guys solved the problem by discharging the battery, unplug and plug it. Some cheap wires may not work properly, better buy official ones.

Yeah, its the cheap wires and if the wire has a short in it, it probably messed up your logicboard. costs around 200-300 to repair from apple. you can try and discharge the battery, but i think that voids the warranty if you still have one.

I have to find my receipt or hope to get a new one from best buy, or ill just have to void my warranty and try discharging the battery

Masakre...worked for me. Even went out to buy a TriWing bit, but you don't need one. Just pop back cover off and disconnect battery from logicboard. Wait about 10 seconds, plug it back in, and it's good to go. Fixed both laptops in a span of 5 minutes! Thanks.

Same thing happenned to me last week. I went to get it fixed, it worked til I plugged by Bamboo usb in again. Now my motherboard is screwed and they must change it for 600,00$... I bought my 15 inch Mac in 2011. Has anyone also got that problem with a computer dated from 2011 ? Cause I don't want to pay that, it's a quater of the price I bought it. However, I can't find anything on Internet that would help me save money...

    HELP !

mine suddenly started working again. I tried charging it for a day when the charging light was very dim, then i just left it unplugged for a few days, because i gave up. battery probably discharged itself or something. Because when i took it in, they just plugged it in and it worked. I was so relieved lol.

You can try and find a new motherboard on ebay or some other site and replace it yourself? it may be cheaper.

    Eroms,

This is a rather old thread - you might get more responses by starting your own.

Do you have the same problem as the original poster? Does your MacBook Pro 'turn off' after plugging in a USB device?

Instead of replying you may want to start your own thread and decribe exactly what problems you're having.

    Clinton

Try resetting the SMC -> http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3964.
