iPhone 4 "other" space?
iTunes indicates that my iPhone 4 is utilizing .51gb of "other" space. Any idea what "other" is and if it can be safely removed?

This typically indicates corrupted data on the device.
A search of the forums would have told you exactly what is going on and how to address it.
Here's a couple of threads on this exact subject.

Thanks for the reply. I did search the forum and found the same postings. I did the restore from backup but the "other" space remains at a half gig. I was hoping there might be some new and improved solutions.
Half a gig is normal.
Your other can be from 400mb - 800 mb and be very normal. Contacts/calendars/favorites/voicemail/recent calls/etc
It does not sound like you have nan issue at all.
Thanks.
Glad it helped.
Hi roaminggnome what about 1.06 GB from 'Other'? Is that kind of normal too?
I've restored from backup my iPhone for the 3rd time, the first was 7 GB, the second came down to 1.2 and this went down to 1.06, do you think I need to restore as new to clear it?
