My iPod Touch will not play through external speakers when it is docked. It only plays through it's internal speaker. All the other functions on the iPod can be controlled by the external speakers (volume, track, etc). How do I fix this?

It is an IHome Speaker/Alarm Clock. It worked just fine until yesterday. I am not sure if there was an iOS update or not. I also have a Logitech speakers and it no longer works with them either. The volume control on the speakers changes the volume on the iPod but the sound only comes out of the iPod internal speaker.
