I found this website for download Instagram videos and it works for Vimeo too: http://www.dredown.com/instagram —put in the Vimeo URL and the original mp4 file will be available to download. Download that then drag and drop from finder to keynote. #simples.
You can usually download Vimeo videos when you're logged in – there's a download link at the bottom left of the page.
Once you download the video as a QuickTime MP4 file, you can drag it into Keynote.
I was too looking to do so but found that if you are wanting to stream the video direclty from Vimeo into your presentation then sadly it cannot be done. Keynote does not allow online embeds from vimeo/youtube/dailymotion. You can only insert a video file into your keynote if you have the file on your computer.
I find this extremely disappointing considering PowerPoint supports online video embeds and does this very simply. Google docs also allows streaming embeds into your presentation (although the videos have to come from YouTube - obviously :-)
The LiveSlides add-in supports streaming directly from Vimeo into a Keynote slide. Instructions for that at https://www.liveslides.com/how-to-insert-vimeo-into-keynote. It works with any website so all the other video sites like YouTube, Daily motion, etc. work with it.
