I have a series of .mov files, and I'm not able to open them in QT X or QT 7.6.6. The codecs listed in the Info for the files are: MPEG-2, Linear PCM, and Timecode. Original format is MPEG HD, at 1920x1080. Does anyone know how I can play them back? I don't have final cut editing software on my computer unfortunately and VLC opens the files so I can view the pictures, but they have no sound. Help!

I might be wrong but I think you need to buy the Pro addition to QT7:

Thanks! I just tried downloading that component and unfortunately it doesn't seem to have made any difference. Argh. US$20 wasted! Thanks anyway for the advice--if you have any other tips I'd love to hear them.
