Deleting demo software

I just downloaded a demo version of Battery 2, but it was expired and now i cant open Logic. I have deleted every file associated with it but when i go to open Logic, a 30 day expiry notice appears and then Logic crashes.

How do i delete all the files for the demo?

Also their is one file on the hardrive named battery demo which says "cant delete this file" when i try to trash it. I have already emptied the contents of this file but i cant get rid of the empty thing. Also their is a battery demo file in components that i cant delete.

Please help me!!

Yes, this happens with some demo programs.

If you're comfortable with terminal you can force-delete there. If you're not, then this will do the job:

http://www.versiontracker.com/dyn/moreinfo/macosx/12057

This will change ownership on one or more files, and force delete trashed items.

Be sure to search all N.I. and battery files, but be careful if you have any other Native Instruments stuff that you do want to keep.

I once installed this demo version and got rid of it simply by moving its AU component to the Components (disabled) folder - actually I had no idea it would expire...

Try this: use the Go menu in finder to get to /Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/Components, then locate the "Battery2Demo.component" file and move it somewhere else - anywhere else: at launch time, Logic parses the contents of this folder to validate its components. If Battery is no longer there, and Logic is still stuck, then there must be something else.

have downloaded the link and have it on my desktop, what am i supposed to do with it

Double-click it.

BatChmod offers a "Force Empty Trash" menu when you access from its Dock icon (click+hold)

This command sets the privileges and unlocks trash items and then empties the Trash.

You could also create a folder on your desktop, toss all Battery files into that folder, then using BatChmod change the ownership of that folder and enclosed files to your name (if you're Admin) and then change all the permissions to RWX checked. That way, you can do anything you want with the files.

Finally, under "Help" in your menu bar, there is a manual. It's pretty easy to use - check it out.

hello, the message reads: "The item "Battery 2 Demo" cannot be moved to the trash because it cannot be deleted"

This appears when i try to move/delete either the Battery folder in the applications or the digidesign components.

I am the admin for the computer. But i am a little lost here.
When i go into hardrive it has applications, user systems and library folders. In applications their is all my logic stuff, plugins etc and i-tunes, i-dvd, calculator and all the apple stuff. If i go into the users folder, their is a house icon with my name under it and a shared folder.

Am i doing something wrong here.

Success at last, i have just copied the contents from the components file into a seperate file and deleted the original with the Battery 2 demo folder in it. Hey presto it worked. I can now get back into Logic.

Still cant get rid of the empty Battery 2 demo folder on the hard drive but as long as it isnt doing any harm who cares!!

Thaks everyone for the help.

P.S Has anyone recently had problem,s trying to install the full version of Battery 2. Mine will not install: the error message Error creasting folder. 1008:9-5000 Access denied" "You do not have enough access privaleges for this installation" keeps appearing.

Any ideas??
