STAND ALONE KEYBOARD AND MIDI CONTROLLER COMBO?

I'd like a stand alone keyboard that can be played on it's own and act as a midi controller for GarageBand. I really like the Yamaha keyboards (psr293 - psr295 - psr-e 303) but none of the distributors can tell me for sure whether they will perform as I'd like. I'm trying to contact Yamaha, but thought I'd check here since there are many knowledgable people in the discussion groups. Can anyone make any suggestions either about the Yamaha or other keyboards that might work as I describe?
p.s. I'm a beginner so don't need anything too fancy.

Good USB/MIDI keyboards for GarageBand are the M-Audio 49e or the 61e. MIDI control of GB is fairly limited though.

See the 1/7/06 "Connecting electic [sic] keyboard to garage band" topic by Zibix and the 1/1/06 "Controlling Garageband" topic by Musikus for more info.
