Logic 9 constantly outputs midi

I've been using Logic for about six years now and recently tried to sync an external synth. Logic has trouble with external synths, sending external midi clock. I noticed that every time I record enable an audio track, all the ports on my unitor8 start blinking. So I started poking around with midi monitor and it looks like Logic is spitting out all kinds of midi messages (notes, channel pressure, pitch wheel, pedal on/off) to all ports. This is just from playing playing one audio track - No midi. This could possibly explain some of the trouble with external sync. Here's a screen grab from midi monitor.

These are "reset" and/or "chase" messages, Logic will send them to all ports and all MIDI channels.

Preferences/MIDI & Settings/MIDI/chase.

Since you have a lot of ports happening there's going to be quite a few messages sent, but they should stop after a bit. You have some adjustment over them in Preferences and Settings.

If they're not stopping (MIDI Clock will not stop, that's normal) then you possibly have a MIDI loop, probably with the IAC bus.

Try disabling those and see if the continuous stream stops.

Not sending clock. All Chase options = off. Turned off IAC Bus and my midi interface. Logic is still sending sending this stuff. If these are resets this would certainly get in the way of using these parameters to an external instrument. I can't find any settings to stop this.
