Connect to sleeping Mac on network?

Connect to sleeping Mac on network?

Although shared and ID on each of Macbook and iMac (both intel) one cannot connect to the other if asleep. Is theer a way to "wake up" the other machine??

In System Preferences>Energy Saver, check Wake for network access.
