Paint coming off side of Magic Mouse
Anyone else have this issue? I got it with my new iMac in July of last year, just wondering if its a quality issue, or if with use my other peripherals will do the same.

Yes! The silver paint on the left side of the mouse is coming off where I put my thumb.
I'm also starting to see the right side being affected, but not as much (yet).
Quite disappointing for a mouse of this price. This mouse is maybe just one year old!
Thanks for the warning (my MM is about 4 weeks old). It might be caused by abrasion or by chemical action by the grease and sweat from the fingers - everyone produces a little). I will rub a little furniture wax on the areas, then polish it gently. The remaining wax could prevent wear - it helps with highly polished furniture. It would need to be re-applied about every month, I think.
Interesting. I have the same issue with my Magic Mouse - on both sides, left and right. Now the mouse looks really ugly.
My magic mouse is about a year and half old and I am not pleased to say the least. I have other mice nearly 5 years old which have stood the test of time. Looks like someone from apple didnt do their homework when choosing the right materials for this mouse. The paint if coming off on both sides of mine where my fingers make contact....Im pretty sure i don't perspire acid. Anyway, has anyone approached Apple for a replacement.....they are usually good on that side of things..
I have the same issue. Has anyone figured out if apple will do anything?
Still no response from apple? I am having the same issue.
Same problem, along with many others.
I'm really disappointed , this was my first and my last Mac for sure.
Hi!
I am a Spanish girl and I have my iMac since July 2014 and have the same problem with my Magic Mouse. I think even worse because the spots are very black. I talked to AppleCare this morning and say that this is a defect of use. My question is, what we are giving misuse? Are our hands radioactive? How can they say that the problem is due to sweat when we are in the middle of winter and my hands are always freezing? I think it had to be a number of defective mice and I think a mistake not to stop to investigate. The truth is I am very disappointed. I was testing the idea of investing in an iPad. But who can guarantee to me that there's going to happen the same?
