Why does clicking on the open-book icon on the bookmarks bar make Safari crash?

Why does clicking on the open-book icon on the bookmarks bar make Safari crash? Also, I am not able to delete any bookmarks. Everytime I try to, my browser crashes. Anyone have any suggestions?

It sounds like you have at least one corrupted bookmark.

You can try going at it this way:

First, quit Safari.

Then Go to your HOME folder, open Library folder, then go down to the Safari folder.

Open that folder up, and take the Bookmarks plist to your desktop.

Then open up Safari again.

Try clicking on the book icon, or open up the bookmarks menu.

Does it still crash?

I took the bookmarks plist file out of the Safari folder and to the desktop. I restarted Safari. I then clicked on the open-book icon and Safari crashed same as before. It also crashed when I clicked "Show All Bookmarks" on the bookmarks menu, same as before. I then put the bookmarks plist back in the Safari folder and all the bookmarks reappeared. I can make new bookmarks. I just can't delete any.
