Hardware test error: 4VDC/1/40000003: video controller on macbook pro 2007 (santa rosa) but no video issues

Hi community, I have a 2007 macbook pro (core2duo 2,4 ghz NVIDIA 8600m graphics card) which recently I have verified with Apple Hardware test and it showed the following error: 4VDC/1/40000003: video controller . I don't see any issues yet , only thing that I notice is the fans making high pitched noise when I play a youtube video, or working on IMOVIE, but nothing else. I'm afraid of the known problem with this graphic chip, which Apple commonly repairs at no cost. Since I am not in USA (I'm in south america) I am afraid of getting bounced when I send the machine for repairs since it doesn't show any of the symptoms specified in the following article http://support.apple.com/kb/TS2377?viewlocale=en_US

In the other hand, I should hurry up with this since in august 4 years of puchase will be accomplished...so I will not have any support (for free).

I would like to heard your suggestions on this topic, should I wait for the video issues to appear or take it to the service center at soonest?

Many thanks in advance.

I'd recommend taking your MacBook Pro to an Apple Authorized Service Centre (AASP) at your earliest convenience along with a copy of the Apple Hardware Test results as they should be able to repair your computer under warranty as long as you get it done before the warranty extension deadline.

The last thing you'd want is a dead, out-of-warranty machine on your hands that could have been repaired.

Hope that helps, have a great day! 🙂
