The quick navigation controls at the top right of any Apple Support Community page provide a useful adjunct to (or alternative to) a personalised ASC homepage ("Your View") when it comes to quickly moving round the Communities or monitoring types of content. The following posts in this topic walk through the controls currently available there.

New is something more than just a navigation control. It currently allows you to create a new discussion in any category without having to visit the Discussions page for that category and click "Start a discussion".
Start by clicking New and selecting Discussion:
You'll be taken to a Choose Location screen:
(The contents of the Choose Location screen appear to be populated by locations that you've posted in recently, or possibly just visited recently.) Click a location (for example, iTunes for Windows) to be taken to a Start a New Discussion screen in that location:
If the location you wanted to post in did not appear as an option in your Choose Location screen, click Browse for more locations. You'll be taken to a variant of the Communities widget (a bit like the one appearing in the All Content tab of the ASC homepage) where you can pick a community. You'll then be taken to a Start a New Discussion screen in that location.
Your Stuff takes you quickly to items otherwise accessible through the various tabs on your Profile page.
Bookmarks takes you directly to the Your Bookmarks display otherwise accessible by going to your Profile, going into your Your Stuff tab and clicking "Bookmarks".
Discussions takes you directly to the Your Discussions display otherwise accessible by going to your Profile, going into your Your Stuff tab and clicking "Discussions".
User Tips takes you directly to the Your Published User Tips display otherwise accessible by going to your Profile, going into your Your Stuff tab and clicking "User Tips".
Communities takes you directly to the Communities you are following display otherwise accessible by going to your Profile, going into your Your Stuff tab and clicking "Communities".
Notifications takes you directly into the Notifications tab of your Profile.
Preferences takes you directly into the Your Preferences display otherwise accessible by going to your Profile and clicking "Edit preferences" in the Actions box at the top right of your Profile tab.
Profile takes you to the Profile tab of your Profile.
History gives you quick access to various sorts of items that you've looked at very recently at ASC.
When you click History, you'll see:
(1) Under Content, title-links to the last five topics you've looked at.
(2) Under People, links to the last five profiles you've looked at.
(3) Under Places, links to the last locations you've visited (for example, Mac OS and System Software, QuickTime, Windows Software, iTunes U, and Using Apple Support Communities).
(4) A Show entire history > command.
History > Show entire history > does not currently show everything you've ever looked at. Rather it takes you to the following Recent History display:
The Announcement Posts tab currently seems to display the last ten announcement posts you've viewed since logging into ASC.
I can't currently seem to get the Bookmarks tab to display anything at all.
The Discussions tab shows you up to 10 of the topics you've just looked at previously.
The User Tips tab currently seems to display the last ten user tips you've viewed since logging into ASC. (That only includes the user tips that are currently in the new "Document" format, not ones that are currently still shown in discussion post format.)
The Communities tab shows you links to the last ten communities that you've visited.
The People tab shows links to (and avatars for) the last ten profile pages (of other folks) that you've visited.
Browse takes you to a number of different displays which allow you to view every item of a given type at ASC. This post covers the Announcement Posts, Bookmarks and Discussions commands
Announcement Posts currently takes you to https://discussions.apple.com/blogs where you can see stuff like:
Bookmarks currently takes you to https://discussions.apple.com/bookmarks where it looks like you can browse every single public bookmark made by anyone (in an accessible category), listed in chronological order. (Edits to notes or tags will probably bump a given bookmark up to the top of the list, like they do in our personal Bookmarks displays or watch content widgets.)
Discussions takes you to https://discussions.apple.com/threads where you can view every single topic posted anywhere accessible to you at ASC, sorted by most-recent-activity-in-thread:
Browse continued: This post covers the User Tips, Communities, People and Tags commands.
User Tips currently takes you to https://discussions.apple.com/docs where you can view every single user tip in the Document format in an accessible location at ASC. (Currently the vast bulk of Document-format user tips are kept at User Tips Contributions, so most of the entries you see in this display will be from there.)
Communities currently takes you to https://discussions.apple.com/community where you'll see a variant of the Communities widget (a bit like the one appearing in the All Content tab of the ASC homepage):
People currently takes you to https://discussions.apple.com/people where you can browse through (or search for) any of the ASC registered users:
Tags currently takes you to https://discussions.apple.com/tags which displays the current top 200 tags at ASC. You can also do ASC-wide tag searches here:
Hi Tony, a little cut & shut makes this graphic nicer on the eye. People might wonder what you've redacted. 😉 Also bitmap images don't do the nice enlarged overlay thingy. I've lost at least one reply to one of your posts trying to view an image in more detail. I reckon .png for preference.

PS Are those PhotoDraw 2000v2 brush strokes I see there? They look familiar.
Oooh, thank you kindly. Hadn't known about the bmp versus png thing at all. And clicking on a bmp takes you to a different page, so of course that'd raise the stakes of any accidental "click while selecting" incidents during replies. Trying to remember to save as pngs in futures.
Feel free to notify the thread (or otherwise contact a host) and ask them to edit in a better version of a graphic if you've got one available. When I was doing them, I was working in "try to get the cursed thing completely finished just in case you never get back to it after stopping work on it" mode. So aesthetics and ease of use weren't too much of a priority.
