hi, well, im wondering if the lines that the smart cover left on the screen are permanent, because i've try with everything a microfiber cloth and some other products , i've just read a lot of forums of people saying that the lines are permanent, is this true? somebody have the same problem? , can anyone help me with this question please??

I use a micro fibre cloth and that normally gets rid of the lines on the screen. You could try putting some water on the cloth and then wiping the screen, but don't put a lot! Also try cleaning the the smart cover with some water and soap, avoid excessive soap and getting the metal connection wet. Leave to dry out in the sun. Only problem is it gets dirty very quickly as the micro fibre side is always touching the surfaces. I guess the design wasn't thought all the way through.
Just got Ipad2 and leather smart cover. Lines running horiz across screen. Used glasses wipe (soft and non abrasive) and certainly not liquids.
I will be contacting Liverpool Apple store this weekend. I have just paid £600 for what's meant to perfection. I'm confident that Apple will resolve this. I urge people to contact the stores not take advice about when rubbing the screen, "try harder". The marks are within the screen, and the smart cover does not touch it at all.
Apple deal with this immediately.

Just managed to erase marks at the apple store liverpool (excellent service). It took them an hour to clean. so not to damage the screen. I have the brown leather Smart cover which I am going to return. It was a dye in the leather pressed to the screen when carrying that was causing the marks to stick. I will source another alternative.

I've never had any problems wiping the marks off with a screen cleaning wipe. No liquids required.
Try the polyutherane version if ur looking for something simple. U get dust lines, but there easy to wipe off.
