How do i uninstall bonjour?

Under normal circumstances:

(Windows XP) You go into your Add or Remove programs control panel, select "BonJour" and click "Remove".

(Windows Vista or 7) You go into your Uninstall a program control panel, select "Bonjour" and click "Uninstall".

Forgive me, But this problem is really getting out of hand (apple………) I will now copy/paste my post from three weeks ago. It worked for one person, it should work for others as well. I agree with the windows installer cleanup utility. I have posted this twice in the last two weeks. I found the "windows installer cleanup utility" on Major Geeks. My norton internet security cleared the program as "safe". Download the program and use it to uninstall "bonjour" ONLY. Once this is done, try to go to your Itunes program and attempt to download the latest update. This should work, because the program might see that Bonjour is not available and it will download a new "clean" version of Bonjour. It seems that in the last month, many people have had problems with Bonjour getting some sort of bug................ REMEMBER ONLY DELETE THE BONJOUR PROGRAM WITH THE WINDOWS INSTALLER CLEANUP UTILITY!. Let us know how it works. It only took me about twenty minutes to install the program, use it and get the updated version of itunes from apple! Good Luck!

unfortunately, uninstalling Bonjour isn't always as straight forward as suggested by b noir. After having removed Bonjour as indicated 'Devices and Printers' of Windows7 on y PC was totally messed up. The screen stayed empty though I was waiting for about 10 minutes while the update was busy. Rebooting the system didn't help either.

Other Windows7 users reported similar serius problems with Bonjour (see for example http://www.raymond.cc/blog/archives/2008/02/10/how-to-uninstall-or-remove-bonjou r-mdnsresponderexe/). I had to go to a previous restore point of Windows7 i order to cure this problem.

I need help unstalling bonjour . I was tole by apple care to remove itunes and all components and then reinstall itunes because I am having issues trying to update my os. I have removed all the programs but I cannot remove bonjour. I removed it from the add/remove in the control panel and no longer see it there but under my computer I can still see the bonjour directory and it will not let me dele mdnsresponder.exe. Anyone know what to do? I just want to remove it and then reinstall itunes. Thanks

What error message do you get from Windows if you try to delete the folder, garol? (That may give us a heads up on the nature of the problem with the file.)

well, don't know what I did, but somehow I did it! thanks for your response. lemme try to reinstall it now
