Cleaner for iMac?
Hello, I am new to this community. Since I am a new iMac user, I wonder if it is necessary and useful to clean my iMac on regular bases?

Welcome!
Glad you've found us!
We're not staff, but other Mac users here, asking questions and sharing solutions.
So, do you mean clean the outside,
or are you talking about a program to "clean up" files, etc.?
No, I used to clean regularly my files, cookies, preferences etc. on my former PC. Now, I wonder if such an application is also used and useful on a iMac?
All Macs do maintenance in the middle of the night, they do daily, weekly and monthly maintenance. All the stuff you used to have to do a PC is behind you now. Just use your computer and forget about all that stuff. If you want to monitor when the maintenance has been done you can download the Maintenance Widget from http://www.giantmike.com/widgets/Maintidget.html.
BTW if you haven't been exposed to these before they're great for people that have or are considering switching to a Mac. Switch 101 , Mac 101 , Find Out How Video tutorials . It's a good idea to bookmark these sites and go through them.
Welcome to the light side!

Thanks a lot Roger. Your answer is very useful !

Your welcome Ron.
Roger, I followed your suggestion and opened the video tutorials. However they don't play in safari. They do play well in firefox. I would like to use the safari browser. So what can I do to correct the error?
That's odd, they play in Safari for me just fine. Give AppleCare a call, you're covered for 90 days and they can help you with the Safari issue you're having. You can find the number at AppleCare Contact Info.
