I found a solution that has worked on both iPhone 4's I have that have had the same issues, and also including not being able to download updates in the App store.

Go to Settings > WiFi and turn it OFF.

Next go to General > Cellular > Cellular Data and turn it OFF

Next go back to Settings > WiFi and turn it ON, (wait a few seconds for it to sync with your network)

Finally go back to General > Cellular > Cellular Data and turn it ON.

I had the same issues on both my wife's phone, and my own, and it fixed it immediately without changing any proxy settings or reboots, (which I did try on my phone and did not work, but did not try on my wife's phone)

    Hope this helps!

    Now it's looking/searching for a personal hotspot?

In Settings-Wifi, next to the found wifi network name there is a blue pointer. Click on in it and it will open advanced netowrk settings. By default it is DHCP. you have to click ot Static and fill the proper details of your network. You can read the details from your Time Capsule or other wifi router.

    Good luck!

I haven't tried the static IP yet....but I find it kind of strange... since we added Apple TV..this problem started. Talking to someone else I know who just bought AppleTV and they have an iPhone 4 are having the same problem connecting to their home wifi? Sounding more like an AppleTV conflict ??  Anyone else having this problem after adding AppleTV?

The same problem occured with my iPhone 4S right after the update to iOS 6.0. I fixed by changing WiFi router channel setting from 11 to 1. Hope this helps.

Mine is fixed! Thanks to my son. It was a setting for our wifi router that he had changed to try to make it fasted for our AplleTV! I can't tell you exactly what it was but must be my iPhone was not liking it.

I Have the same issue.  Before the upgrade, no problem on my home wifi. I have 2 laptops, one apple without the upgrade and one HP no issue with home wifi network.  Both my iPad and iPhone - both recently witht he I06 upgradefind the network, but both say "unable to connect".  Nothing works. Reboot, " forget this network' and re enter. Etc.   I agree that it must be apple issue
