my iphone 4's screen has gone black, like it would if i had turned it off except i have'nt turned it off and i cant turn it on or anything. can anyone help?

Try a reset. Hold down the Sleep/Wake button + Home button for around 10 seconds until the Apple logo appears.

Had the same problem with my iphone 4, but a hard reset is not fixing it 😟, not got itunes at work so not sure what to do now
My iPhone 4 did this. Tried everything. Finally took the battery completely out, put it back in and it worked.
