Restarted computer, launched iTunes, 10 years worth of work won't load. Data still in the same place, plenty of backups, lots of options to try and fix.

What is the first thing to try when your iTunes loads like a virgin? No history, no music, nothing.

Delete a .plist? Move iTunes folder out of Music, let it rebuild and put it back?

found a support doc that said to use the iTunes Library file from the last update in Previous; unfortunately, mine was over a month old, and while it repopulated the library, I lost all my changes for over a month, including purchases!

Used Time Machine to go back to the iTunes Library file from last night and all is well.

Viva Time Machine!
