iPad sound on apps doesn't work

If you have an Apple store near by, I would suggest you take it there and have them look it over. Good luck.

Since you talked with Apple I'm assuming that you already reset the iPad and updated to the latest iOS. It's hard to diagnose something like this over the net. You'll get it sorted tomorrow 🙂

For anyone else experiencing this, try flipping the rotation lock located next to your volume control on the side.

I had the same problem and just figured it out. I must have had the switch on the side set to mute/unmute option and had muted it and then in my settings switched the functionality of the switch to the rotation lock instead. To solve this, go to your settings and switch the side button to mute and then switch the mute off. My sound now works.

This was exactly it. I guess my 6 year old son had messed with that setting. I had wondered a while back why the rotation had stopped working and then noticed later that the volume didn't work on the games unless you used headphones. But chaining that setting to mute and ensuring that switch on the side was in the correct position fixed the problem!
